St. Peter's Lutheran Church-

is a vibrantly alive and growing congregation with a long and rich heritage that seeks to minister to the people in the community around us. Our purpose statement proclaims that: "Our mission is to enthusiastically and prayerfully make Christ known to our members and to people in the community through the guidance of the Holy Spirit."

We are a warm and friendly church family that actively seeks new members and joyfully welcomes newcomers into the congregation. We seek to offer a variety of programs and ministries of worship, education, service, and fellowship for our members and people in the community surrounding our church.

St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church is one of the ten oldest Lutheran congregations in South Carolina. While we list our founding date as 1780, it is clear from historical documents that we were in existence prior to this date. The first St. Peter's congregation was formed, and a log house of worship built on Eighteen Mile Creel in Lexington County. In the early 1800's St. Peter's congregation was relocated to the Porth property, approximately one half mile from our present location. That land is currently being developed into a housing development, Farming Creek.

As St. Peter's congregation continues to minister to its members and community, we are more committed than ever to our Mission Statement: Our Mission is to enthusiastically and prayerfully make Christ known to our members and to people in the community through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

If you would like to be a part of a vibrant congregation, joyful worship, and dedicated Christian service, we invite you to visit with us in person at St. Peter's!
